Working for a service that supports individuals with challenging behaviour; Better Healthcare have been invaluable and proactive in supplying candidates that can meet these difficult needs. We have been lucky to work with kind, patience individuals that are well trained, well qualified and know exactly how to meet the needs of the most complex of people.
I would like to say a huge thank you to your company for your employee Kevin Ditson. We have had Kevin as a Live In carer for my mother in law Greta Cook.
Kevins’ kindness, care, politeness, patience, understanding and support for Greta has been amazing. Kevin has had some difficult times dealing with Greta’s dementia and mobility but he has coped amazingly well. Thank you.
Julie Cook - Live-in Care
The people we spoke with who used the service spoke highly of the caring nature of the staff that delivered their care and support. One person said, “The carers themselves are excellent”. One relative told us, “The staff that come are amazing; they’re very good with my [relative]”. Another relative of a person who used the service said, “The staff go out of their way to help. I wouldn’t let anyone else do it. When the staff make my [relative] smile, it makes me so happy”. A third relative we spoke with told us, “I trust the carers instinctively”.
One person told us they received support from a number of different staff but that they all treated them with respect and dignity.

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how pleased we are with the standard of care Rod is receiving from yourselves. He had concerns as he had grown used to the ladies from the Reablement Team from the council but he shouldn’t have worried as the care is over and above anything we had expected. All his ladies are lovely, the young girl called Jessie that comes in the morning is his favourite. She is excellent with him as are the other ladies. They are all thoughtful and really nice and nothing is too much trouble. I have no concerns at all when I am out as I know the care they provide is every bit as good as I give him.
There are so many horror stories out there about mistreatment from carers so I am really thankful to have your firm as Rods care team and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to anyone in a similar position as ourselves.
Keep up the good work and once again my heartfelt thanks for your dedicated, hardworking team at Better Healthcare.

Hi Bonsu, thank you for your text. The Agency BHC has been a remarkable and wonderful support to us. Patricia is truly an exceptional person and an angle. We’ve had a lovely team of carers. My testimony to you is an advertisement for your office. What a reference of recommendation I could write. Thank you. Michelle
Michelle - Brighton Branch
I would like to place on record the wonderful care provided for my mother Mrs T. The carer Michele is always happy and therefore makes my mum happy. Michele is happy to go the extra mile so many times. The latest example was last Thursday when on arrival she found that at some time since the previous care visit my mum had fallen and cut her leg. She helped my mum get dressed and stayed with her until I arrived to take her to the hospital.
Michele has achieved a wonderful connection with my mum, for which I am very grateful and find very reassuring.
Michele is a wonderful ambassador for the care your company provides.
I appreciate all the care that is provided by your ladies but just wanted to place on record my gratitude to Michele.

QA, Colchester – We changed care company after the previous care service declined to a poor level of service. Since changing to Better Healthcare Services we have been most impressed with all aspects of the service. Having a regular carer is a fantastic improvement, so well done to all concerned. From DD

I would like to say a huge huge thanks for all your support you gave to my mum Penny Smith after she had a fall in her home on Monday 3rd November. Your carer Sylvia found Penny on the floor upon arriving for her daily visit. She contacted the emergency services and stayed with Penny keeping her calm until they arrived.
It gives me great comfort knowing someone else is looking out for my mum allowing me to continue working and giving Penny her independence in her own home.
Thanks again to you all for your support.

Would you please pass on my thanks to all your staff who looked after my wife Beth in the last few weeks of her life.
They were all great but in particular Chloe, Melissa and Sharon deserve special mention.
Beth got to know and trust them all and it was a real comfort to me knowing that her personal care was being looked after so well.
Jim Ross - Ipswich Office
My mum went into hospital on May 16th. But for the months she had Better Healthcare supporting her at home she was extremely well looked after. Carers were so kind and caring, diligent and trustworthy. The Office Manager, Michelle was also so kind and helpful and accommodating to mum’s changing needs. Very pragmatic and professional. I think that Better Healthcare in Colchester is the best agency that we have ever used. Thank you.
A client’s daughter - Colchester Office

I would like to put on record how indispensable Better Health Care has become to our lives. My 88-year-old husband is disabled and bedbound but is well looked after by BHC staff. They do all they can to make Ted comfortable and are always thinking of ways to improve his sad lot. They are even concerned for me and extend their kindness to include small tasks to make things easier. Thank you all.
Maureen - Ipswich Office
People told us that the care workers promoted and respected their independence. One person said, “If I can do something myself, they never take over. ”People’s records provided guidance to care workers on the areas of care that they could attend to independently and how this should be promoted and respected”

Comments from Quality Assurance Questionnaire – Cambridge Branch 2014
My experience of working with Matthew was exceptional. From the initial contact until he successfully placed me into the Registered Managers Role, he consistently supported me in my application. He went above and beyond to ensure I was prepared for both interviews. Matthew was always approachable even if it meant discussing concerns outside his normal working hours. Professional service all the way. Highly recommended.
Inesa Jones - Care worker
Everyone in the induction training expressed how fantastic the training is and how much they have learnt and how wonderful Anne is. They said they didn’t realise that training could be so much fun and yet so informative.
Sharon Popps - Area Manager
Three care workers gave excellent feedback for the training session:
- “The course is very very good. Annie is excellent!”
- “The course was very helpful and interesting in all aspects. I gained a lot of knowledge.”
- “Fantastic training session today. My knowledge is greater.”
Comments on our Moving & Handling and Basic Life Support training
We are absolutely delighted with the service you provide and have huge confidence in all of your dedicated and professional staff. The care and support my mother received is outstanding and delivered with friendly and caring competence.
When my mother was taken ill in May your carers were on hand to help until the emergency services and family arrived. Later, a member of the team telephoned to offer further support and to receive an update, he was extremely kind, courteous and compassionate.
It is a real comfort to know that my mother is supported by such a great team in Colchester and I would be very happy to provide references to any future potential clients.
Very best wishes Mrs LG (daughter)

Daughter of Mrs McCullough, Colchester, received home care
This past year has been very difficult caring for our 22-year-old son. He had very high medical needs and was told, on more than one occasion, that he had only days to live. But he continued and at home, with supporting staff from Better Healthcare, was able to pass this life at home surrounded by the people who knew and loved him. I want to pay tribute and a big thank you to your wonderful carers who worked so hard for our boy. Always cheerful and diligent in their work giving a high standard of commitment to all they did within our home.
Parent of a Specialist Live In Package, Brighton
I’ve worked with Better Healthcare for a number of years and have always found them to be professional and responsive to our business needs. We have continued to work with them as they have proved reliable and more importantly offer quality agency staff. I often rebook their care workers as and when needed which offers our service-users personable care and relationship consistency.
Locality Manager, Dimensions, Residential Care Home
We are very pleased with the service Better Healthcare are providing. Since our meeting and discussion, I am more than happy to send you shifts that need covering prior to other agencies. You have done what you said you would do and cover all shifts thus giving my clients consistency and your staff the work. Thanks again…

We find Better Healthcare professional and friendly to deal with on a day-to-day basis. BHC is very accommodating and provides an excellent service, sometimes at very short notice. We are happy moving forward to continue to use BHC as our first choice agency. Thank you for your continuous help and support Lucy. This thank you goes out to Laura and Olga too.
Avenues Care Group, talking about our Ipswich Healthcare team
I wanted to thank you for networking with our service.
You have been very quick in response with finding shift covers for us, and most of the time successful. Some of the staff turned out to be very good and we’ll make sure they get jobs with us whenever we need the cover.
Assistant Locality Manager - Aspire Ambassador
I am writing to say how much we as a family appreciated the care and kindness our father, Mr Nicholas Richardson, was shown by members of your care team. He was visited and cared for by Denise, Stephanie, Tanya and Natalie for the last five days he was with us and they all conducted themselves with great professionalism and showed him such compassion. We are very grateful for their help and everything they did to make him as comfortable as possible and wanted to express our appreciation.
Claire, Jane, Katy and Sarah - Daughters of palliative care patient
I just thought I would let you know that my mum, Mary Siviter, sadly passed away last Thursday. She was suffering from heart failure and cancer of the liver. I would like to thank you all for your care and patience with mum over the many years you supported her. I know she wasn’t always the easiest person to please! But deep down I know she greatly valued the care you gave her.
Anne - Daughter of patient
We find Better Healthcare Services very engaging and dependable. They have a very good understanding of our services and regularly visit us onsite to better understand our staff needs. They take feedback very well and are very proactive in dealing with staffing issues that arise. As a result of recent feedback, they have improved their on-call system which is very helpful for out of hours and emergency shift request. We also want to commend them on how prepared they were for the recent Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) in providing immediate short term staffing. Great professionals, forward thinkers and a pleasure to work with.
Deputy Assessment Hub Manager - No Second Night Out Assessment Hub
Judy and the Peterborough office’s support has been invaluable over the last month and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. The future viability of our entire service was in doubt due to long term historical staffing issues, and this would have led to several vulnerable adults having to be moved into unfamiliar settings and locations. Judy and her team have helped us through a challenging time with continual support, guidance and staff that are in-tune with the needs and challenges of our service users thus restoring our faith in recruitment agencies and the service they provide.
I would like to say a big “thank you” to all of the carers that looked after my husband James. He couldn’t have been better cared for. Also, thank you to the girls, especially Natalie, Tanya, Denise and Steph, for the emotional support they gave me when I was feeling upset and stressed. James passed away peacefully last week with family at his bedside.
Thank you so much! You are angels.

Better Healthcare has always been very approachable and understanding of the needs of the service. I have used them for the past two years and they have responded quickly and efficiently to requests for staff. They have kept in touch and been sympathetic to the needs of the service. Jason and Baz follow up placements and have actioned issues that have arisen effectively. They are a trusted source for staffing our short-term needs.
Sue - Outreach Manager at Oxford Street Population Outreach Team
Better Healthcare has been very helpful to us over the past months. When we need cover staff, it is often covered immediately. The communication is excellent between our end and yours and this is what keeps us referring back to you.
The quality of the majority of workers sent our way has been excellent. We look forward to continuing working with you.

We want to thank Better Healthcare for all of their hard work. Amy, in particular, works very hard to ensure that our son Henry gets the right carers.
The changes that we’ve seen in Henry’s mood and mental health is a true testament to everyone from Better Healthcare involved in his life. I haven’t seen Henry this relaxed and at peace in many years.
The last 17 years with Henry has been a lonely and painful journey and without your support, it would’ve been impossible to continue. In the darkest of times, I always found glimmers of light; those angels that appear when we need them the most. You are those angels. Thank you.
All your team deserve the highest professional praise, respect, admiration and dedication for the superb levels of care that they all provided coupled with compassion and a level of knowledge that was so evident.
Particularly Georgious, Jessica, Makida, Amalia, Jade, Chris, Megan and Kim.
Thank you all for helping to make Mum’s life so much better in her final weeks and for supporting me so that I could cope. God bless you all.
Mum is very happy with all of the carers and is finding them very kind and helpful.
Thank you to Molly for leaving a note about mum’s food. As we are now finding out what she likes.
To all the lovely carers and staff who took such good care of my lovely mum! You’re doing a great job. Mum is settling in well at Ellacombe but I’ll certainly recommend you to others.
With many thanks and best wishes to you all,
Thank you for everything you have done for me. You have gone above and beyond; you helped me feel supported in my work and listened to when I faced new challenges. I really appreciate all the care, guidance and wisdom you have imparted to me, but most importantly, thank you for trusting and believing in me. This has been a rewarding experience and it wouldn’t be the same without you and the thousands of emails we have shared. I’ll never forget the help you’ve given me.
Thank you, Ed. xxx
EdFormer BHC care worker
Well, where do I start; Lucy (Registered Nurse) has been coming to Marbrook for many months now and we have had nothing but amazing feedback! Lucy has fitted well into Marbrook. She really is a credit to our Team! Lucy is always working hard, very punctual with a positive motive to want to work. Our Management Team, Nurses team, Care staff, Residents and Residents family members have all given great feedback for Lucy. She really has fitted in well. She has always had a lovely attitude and always willing to help Marbrook when we require nurses and last-minute nurse cover. It’s always a pleasure to chat with Lucy; she is wonderful and always quick to respond to emails and phone calls!
I hope this is helpful and I also hope this feedback gets to Lucy so she knows how much we appreciate having her here. We will be sad to see her go when she goes for her maternity leave.
What does Better Healthcare mean to one of our new care workers?
B… brilliant job! I enjoy the physical challenges and of course helping those who need it.
H… highlights of job training with Sally over the Christmas and New Year period. I couldn’t have asked for better training – as far as I’m concerned it was gold standard information overload provided by Better Healthcare. Thank you.
C… client’s needs will always come first. It’s in my DNA; that’s the way I tick.
To the staff at Better Healthcare Services,
Thank you so much, especially to Simon, Clare and Susan, who looked after our mother Slyvia during the last months of her life.
Your unerring care, patience and understanding helped make her final months as comfortable as they could be. My brothers and I much appreciated your support during this difficult time in all our lives.
Thank you so much for all your care and understanding.
Camilla Davis and family
